Yep.. the 1333 NB strap allows me to reach 4 Ghz no problem--but no dual Channel. Maybe in the next BIOS...working at finding a decent spot on the 1066 where the RAM is Orthos stable--so far Dual Channel with the Crucial is far less stable than 4 sticks of smaller and slower RAM.

It seems like you are pushing that board to its limit. Don't think its the ram as Paul, I and others have the ram and haven't really had any problems.

I hear that but there are always bad components--nothing is always 100%--even with steppings and weeks on CPUs--they are not all the same.

But I am halfway convinced that the Board just doesn't like it. However if I can find a sweet spot that makes use of the high speed of the modules, the dual channel of the 1066 and still keep it where I don't have to be running 1.98 to the chipset...

On an unrelated note a lot of stuff is breaking and screwing up--the Slot Load on Velocitor just pooped out for no discernable reason. And now the Ultra XCOnnect inside Claw is realeasing that famililar smell of sudden death--burning insulation of some sort...no smoke yet so I am letting it run. I dunno--like I said I seem to have reverse polarity Midas touch...

But I am getting to know how to make just about any type of board any brand of CPU and any kind of RAM submit to my will! 4 gigahertz is still 4 gigahertz...and cracking off a 10K 3DMark06 is the carrot on the stick--quite a bit out of reach LOL... Although I am getting closer and closer...

Post away man...you are always welcome. I am just having a devil of a time finding the best settings to get themost performance with the least potential for catastrophic failure...LOL

When I smelled that burny smell I though for sure it was from that 2 volts to the chipset...but no.

Orthos may say the board is not stable but I am running through 3DMark06 and Super Pi fine...

So much for the 1333 boys--it's great for a quick run up to the top--but I can get nearly the same scores a bit lower down the scale--and run Orthos too.

Going back to the 1066 strap and hopefully will be able to make this RAM run at least 1000...if not I am unsure whether to RMA it or just hand on to it until I get an Asus Board...

Turns out Paul Dovi is having the same cold POST issues and the same difficulties getting into the BIOA--my guess: Crucial Ballistix race DR2 1000--we have the same identical stuff. Maybe the ones with thelittle lights are a bad run...

Anyhoo I am done benching and twiddling for a while. I am tired of screwing with the Crucial--it is not providing any real performance other than being able to run up the FSB to 4006. I am getting close to the same performance (unfortunately) with my highly overclocked DDR2 667 (running DDR2 800) at 3600 Orthos Stable.

I am currently Folding away and will leave off trying for perfection until another day.

More to come!

3 days of Folding @ 3600. My standing rose from 19 to 18 on the team. Coincidence?

"tethered vesicles" an 800+ work unit got "Early COre Shutdown" and Server Error . I was pretty excited--until it lost it. Do not think it was a calculating error. Will wait and see. So far that is the only dropped WU I am aware of.

Was trying to show this log to a friend in NC last night and realised just how impossible it is to make heads or tales of what the heck ICE is or looks like.

To improve that I am currently editting the first page to include an assemblage of links and pictures. The Large resolution pictures will have to go I'm afraid--working off a 15" monitor last night I can see exactly why they must be resized.Easiest way for me to do that is to replace them all with thumbnails for now until I can re-upload them all at lower resolution.

CD You should REALLLLY try the Linux SMP client for any of your dual core folding machined. I am running that with VMware so I an can run the linux inside windows. So I still have all functionality, but its going hella fast. Take a look for your self, Thats just my E6600 rig running @ 3.6. It has totally bumped up my production 10 fold. Went from like 250 - 300 PDD to between 1300 - 2000 PPD. Same machine, same clock speed.
