I just need to close my eyes and hit the "confiirm order" button on those WBs..but I will need to learn more about OCing GPUs first..and get sharper on which cards are fun to OverClock. I keep getting stuck trying to OC them..I gather that adjusting the RAM parameters is a big deal--which frankly I am n00bular about.

I want to share a little more about that:

When my buddy Burn gets rolling with his CNC machine I have some drawings of a intermediary waterblock for using in between the Phase head and the CPU. But basically it is a low restriction maze-type--but with the inlet and outlet on the side of a thick 2 part all copper block--the idea being to still transfer a large percent of the cooling effect to the CPU directly while enabling the use of the "overflow" to chill the coolant loop. IMO the lines should be no larger than 3/8" to work well for most GPU/NB/RAM/HDD waterblocks (if you see where this is going).

If it helps I will post the drawings...

Anyway I think it would be really entertaining to watercool everything--except the PSU...

I dunno why but I really like the Alphacool stuff--but it is all those teensy euro-sized lines--which don't work for the Storm. But If I chill the CPU with Phase then the rest of that stuff would work great if I used splitters.

I think it would look really cool to have all these UV glowy lines of fluid lacing around under the top. I like the Koolance RAM-30-V06 Dual Ram Cooler and the Alphacool HDD3 HDD cooler because it is all serpentine under the acrylic--that would look awesome with the HDDs upside down so you could see the copper and fluid...but it makes it a hard choice if you are cooling a Raptor X LOL--maybe I will have to make a little mirrored turntable for it or something. And I can't think of a nicer-looking GPU WB than the DD Koosah or Tyee...

And all without a radiator or fan!

sounds like a killer idea. I am still entertaining a chiller idea for my w/c setup, with with that phase it would be awesome.

The prob is of course loss. So if you try to minimize the total loss with a short loop and plenty of supply side wrapping it should work. especially if the chill can by applied directly to the CPU at least through a great conductor like copper rather than Denatured and PEG. Although hot, the Peripherals do not seem to be as critical to performance as a deep frozen CPU...

CD,

Awesome build you have there. I envy the amount of time you have to put into your modding. If we could all be so lucky.

By the way. Please post the drawings you have for your WB idea. I am very technical when it comes to design and build and would love to offer my 2 cents if you'll hear it.

Will do...still cleaning and organizing the PC stuff...where did it all come from?

BTW the ICE case took me ten hours to build and maybe another ten to tweak into it's current shape.

It is not time, it's not even money (I have thousands in PC parts) it's that sudden dispensation of Grace from the Grand OCer that lets me slide like a greased electron down the path of least resistance.

I have been planning and drawing and aorking on the ideas and concepts of my Case Mod Comp build and it just won't budge--I bought everything I need and have more than enough time and supplies to forge ahead...nut for some reason I am blocked..

Nonetheless i am able to pop out a WC rig one night and a Phase rig another night. That is the big mystery--I swear I was going to use a lot of that gear in my Case Mod Comp--but for some perverse reason it would not budge--but the desire to mod is strong in this one...and the Force was with me those nights...and i made up my mind to cannabalize the comp mod and do what was flowing.

I really really have astrong psychic connection with ICE...it's like havine a 300 pound predator for a pet...watch your back! Even now I should be doing something else but i am looking at ICE, wanting to tear out the ineffectual rig that is in there and feed her another one...gonna make her shew before swallowing if i can though--two rigs a day is a bit much LOL...

The desire to mod is strong with myself, as I'm sure it is with most of the readers of this thread.

I've got tons of PC parts thrown about myself, yet none of them can build the beautiful abmonition that is ICE. They couldn't even build they offspring of ICE and the retard down the street. Heck, I've even got a working compressor from a water dispensor that I've been considering modding to use as a phase change or even something that will chill the waters of the Thermaltake river in my rig.

If I only knew where to start...

The ability is there, the time however is not

I remember when I saw a thread on a self-built Phase unit by one of our Brazillian members--nothing stood in his way--he made every part himself--taight himself how to braze and charge the system and all that stuff. I am still very impressed by that kind of drive. Especially when it even overcomes the lack of mney--he traded for alot of that gear...and all I did was buy one...heh.

But I can make a nice box (I should :I've been a woodworker since 1983)LOL
