Duplicate display through GPU and Motherboard?

I was informed that there was a way to duplicate video (and hopefully audio) through the onboard system of my motherboard. My setup is strange, so let me explain and you will hopefully understand my reasoning for this.

I have a gaming computer in my office at home. I have a triple monitor display from my Radeon HD 6970. Two monitors use DVI ports, while the third uses a DVI/DisplayPort adapter. Everything works fine. The issue is, I am trying to get one of my displays (doesn't really matter which one, but it would be nice to be able to pick), to also be duplicated through the onboard HDMI slot on my motherboard. I would like to duplicate one screen output, and the computer's sound output through this jack, plug in a long HDMI cable...and run it all the way to my TV room, and into my AV Receiver. The end goal of this, is an easy to use the NFL Sunday Ticket, on my computer, while being able to push the HD video and audio from my computer to my Sony TV and surround sound.

How would I go about doing this?

By the way, my MOBO is a Gigabyte Z77X-D3H. Thank you for your help...this has really been boggling my mind for awhile.

You just need a DVI splitter(Y-cable) and a DVI-to-HDMI cable run to your TV. Use the splitter on whichever monitor you wish to clone. Mind you, this monitor must be run at whichever resolution you want your TV at. As far as audio, use the optical output on your motherboard/soundcard and run that to your receiver. Though it's not recommended that optical cables be run much more than 30ft.

That is the issue. The distance I would be running it, would be around 50 feet, through the attic. That is why I was hoping to just use HDMI.

I haven't ever seen a motherboard that doesn't simply shut the onboard video off when a dedicated card is plugged in. I don't think what you are asking is possible.

Looking at the 6970, it appears to have 5 display outputs. I know they'll only do 3 independent displays, but I believe they'll let you clone out to more monitors. Why not try that?

You can override the motherboard onboard video from disabling pretty easily actually.
