BenQ XL2420T to Shimian 2560 x 1440 monitor worth it?

Don't quite have the budget to get a better 2560 x 1440 monitor atm (and I refuse to spend 1000$ on a monitor -_-)... so I don't quite know if its worth it to "upgrade" from my current monitor

I play Lol, SC2, and WoW as my long term games and ofcourse I love AAA games and the eyecandy and stuff (currently going through splinter cell black list / hitman absolution / borderlands 2)

Here's the question since I play ranked settings on LoL / SC2 / WoW would having the slower response time hinder my gameplay and does it have higher imput lag than my current monitor and if so by how much. I'm not that educated in monitors and just have the one that is rated really highly by gamers...

I currently have 2x gtx 780 so powering the monitor should not be a problem at all, the main question is does the higher resolution actually provide that large a benefit in gaming or is 1920 x 1080 fine.

Thanks,
Henry

Shimian is never worth it (at least in today's market).

Go with the Qnix QX2710 or X-Star DP2710 (same monitor).

They are 1440p and overclock to 120Hz for $280.

It depends on whether the extra pixels/color or the motion clarity is preferable. Some prefer one and some prefer the other.

Are you already using LightBoost and like it, for example? Then the motion clarity would be a noticeable downgrade. Or are you thinking the color quality of your XL2720T is poor right now? Then the 1440p IPS can be a noticeable upgrade.

I presume you've already tried LightBoost, for further motion clarity improvements on your BENQ? If you're not familiar of the benefits, see 60Hz vs 120Hz vs LightBoost for the motion clarity comparisions during the ideal situation of frame rate matching refresh rate.

Ahhh ok I love the effects of lightboost and what it does on my current monitor and I was thinking the extra field of vision would be nice but the motion clarity is very important for competitive play so I guess I have to wait for a decently priced lightboost 1440p monitor to come out.

Much appreciated +rep

I couldn't go back to 60hz, I love my xl2420tx, if anything I'm getting 2 more.
My 1440p looked amazing on desktop, and other programs such as Photoshop, but I could harly see a difference in image quality while gaming. One HUGE difference was tha 120hz smoothness was no longer there at 1440p. So I went back to gaming on my BenQ.

Unless we start getting 1440 120hz monitors that support it natively I won't part ways with my Monitor.

NOt a big fan of the Korean PLS monitors since it seems like playing lottery, you might get a good panel that doesnt bleed and can actually OC to 120hz.
