No doubt about it, I'd take the 1920x1200 24" over the 1080p 27", if for no other reason than I believe 27"+ monitors should be 2560x1440p or 1600p. 1080p is too low of a resolution for such a large screen, unless you're going to be sitting 8-10" farther away than most people do with a desktop monitor.

You guys sure do a good job at changing peoples minds.

I am going to research the QNIX/X-Star IPS monitors and see if I am willing to pay for the difference. Whatever I get, I will keep for many years, so I don't want to have buyers remorse a year from now.

Shoot.

You get what you pay for. I bought an HP f2304 back in 2004 when a 24" 1920x1200 LCD monitor cost .... sit down .... $2395.00

My father still uses it 2-3 hours every day, and leaves it on most of the time he's not using it. Aside from the CCFL backlight getting a little dim over time, the thing works as brand new.

$2395. I could kill myself thinking about it, that's still > $250/year for 9 years. LOL.

Sheesh, for that kind of money you could buy a new Qnix and GPU every two years, lol.

Times have definitely changed for the better. LOL.

I'm hoping this ZR30w 1600p lasts me 5+ years like my LG W246 did -- and it's still kicking, I gave it to my wife, LOL. We have a consistent hand-me-down program here at my house. Me -> Wife -> Daughter -> Grandpa -> Grandma -> Landfill. LOL.
