The i5 3450 3.1GHz

Thread Starter
Hello guys! so I was wondering if the i5 3450 3.1GHz is any good for gaming, what I actually mean, if I have a decent GPU like the GTX660 for example, the CPU wont cause any performance problems in games ? or is this CPU is quite weak ? is this CPU enough for gaming with the card I mentioned ?
can it actually hold games on highest settings?

What's your gaming screen resolution? and how many screens are you planning to run (currently and for the future)

1920x1080 - ofc I can always go below so it will run better
and for now I only have one screen but if ever I'll get another one it will be only a screen for different things in stead of minimizing everything

the i5 3450 should be fine then. i mean... its a quad core, not as highly clocked as the 3570k or the 3770k but thats fine, it should be fine when paired with a GTX 660 that you have mentioned.

it is always best to get the 3570k instead but if that is not an option the 3450 is going to be fine.

i've got two hd 7950's and a i5 3450 running at 3.8 GHz. the only game where my cpu is the bottleneck is crysis 3.
