a 7950 at only 1100/1575 matches a 7970 GHz already. here . . .

http://www.3dmark.com/3dm11/7021432

most 7950s will do that no sweat.

edit: 2 7950 will surpass a 780.

I have the 7870 xt no the 7870, there is a difference

http://www.techpowerup.com/176817/radeon-hd-7870-tahiti-le-can-pair-with-hd-7900-series-in-crossfirex.html

Im thinking of maybe selling the 7870xt for the 7950 sapphire vapor x and or buy another one to x fire or just x - fire the 7870 XT with the 7950 sapphire vapor x

just sell your 7870 and get a 7950. oc your cpu to 4GHz stable and your set if you have only a 1080.

the savings can go for future upgrades. here is my 7950 oc'ed to 7970 GHz. CPU is holding it back a bit . . .

http://www.3dmark.com/3dm/1168637

that can max out BF3 MP 64 and my minimum never goes below 50.

edit: but the thing is . . . you should be able to do the same with your current oc's (cpu/gpu). something ain't right. run that benchmark. your physics score should be similar to mine if yours is stable at 4.

At 1080 you aren't going to noticed a second 7870 that much. A stock 7870 dose 40+ in BF3, and with a bit of overclock you should be getting well over that. The stutter from the second card wouldn't be worth the extra frames. BF3 multiplayer has a lot of issue with fps drop regardless of how much gpu you have, check the gpu load at the drops, mine drops to 50%.

What is your cpu running out? I have mine 3.8GHz normal with 4.2 Turbo. I really keeps the temps down better, because why run the extra cores at 4.2 if nothing is using them. That works fine for me I get 85~100 load on both gpus in most games, but I'm pushing 5 screens. You might be more cpu bound than me.

i knew something is wrong. your gpu is fine but the cpu (physics score) barely beat my Quad core. compare the physics . . .

http://www.3dmark.com/3dm11/6462334

here is my quad, which can play BF3 MP 64 maxed out but my minimum goes down to the 40s . . .

http://www.3dmark.com/3dm11/6396025

i suspect either one of the power saving features is messing with your cpu or temps are getting too high. focus on the cpu.

Well I'm not sure, it definitely has cool n quiet on. ill turn that off next time. I thought if it had a load it would just react.

I did buy a new water cooler ( all in one) antec kuler h920 or something(think its in Sig) I was told after I installed that standard heat paste is not too good.

I think my pc sits around the 55-60dgrees C. the cooler seems to only go from its liquid temp. which is usually 20dgrees lower.

the sad thing is my CPU ran at these same temps with my air cooler but definitely was louder fans.

next time I'm at the pc shop ill grab heat paste although it maybe tempting to jus go ang buy a 8350fx ( donno if it'll work in my mb)

if you can't get a stable 4GHz without turbo, c1e, cool & quiet . . . yes. make use of that gpu in BF3 and BF4. i think your board will work but would need a bios update. check the asus site.

edit: nope, i just checked. only up to FX8100, which i would not recommend.

not sure where you are from. i only use mx-2 on both cpus and gpus. you can get the more expensive ones if you like.

http://www.superbiiz.com/detail.php?name=FAN-MX2

your board is meant for oc'ing you just need to find the right settings. you can prolly seek help here . . .

http://www.overclock.net/t/720502/the-1055t-owners-club

if ever you'd buy new components and near any microcenter, i suggest to checkout their combo deals. gl!

Thank you for your suggestions,

Im in AUSTRALIA so yeh they heat paste i bought was ARTIC SILVER - The cpu seems to be running lower temps just normal use ( i have it still at bus speed @ 250mhz RAM at 1600mhz with voltage at 1.6v) timings 9-9-9-24.

It puts the CPU up to 3.5ghz but turbo is suppose to got to 4.2ghz. not sure if it does what program records this? Im thinking due to the cores it keeps all 6 at 3.5ghz i tried leaving core unlocker diables but when i boot to windows it seems to put it back.

Also i tried disabling turbo and increasind buss to 285 (gradually) - and leaving the ram on the lowest. But it doesnt seem to like it. I wond boot up. but i think there is something with the default boot in bios whenever i do this it changes the HDD to another one that doesnt have windows thinking.gif
