surround vs Eyefinity?

Well I was thinking of getting an ATI card now since I see eyefinity can configure MORE than 3 monitors for a multi-monitor set-up

http://www.amd.com/us/products/technologies/amd-eyefinity-technology/how-to/Pages/set-up.aspx
on here it recommends me the 6970 or 6870 with gaming on extreme and productivity and entertainment on casual

so unless there is a way to do this on surround, I think im getting a ATI card now thumb.gif

I just did some more research, and do HDMI to MDP apple adapters work? Because no way in hell am I paying 25$ minimum on adapters for MDP-DVI, that's ridiculous Apparently VGA and DVI doesn't work but no mention of HDMI

I'm running 4 monitors with dual 780s, surround does this just fine. Usually when I'm working I only need three, or even two; but i have a 144hz benq monitor. Always fun to watch a movie or skype when gaming on the three other screens wink.gif

Displayport to VGA adapters are also active but way cheaper.

*Beware of the cheap Displayport to DVI adapters, they are passive and will not work for eyefinity.
