I don't understand. An identical system performed almost exactly the same as yours. I am not sure if you expect a 2.4 GHz laptop i7 to perform as well as a 3.2 ghz desktop i7 or what, but if you think there is a problem with your i7, you need to tell us more than the photo, because there is nothing wrong with it in the photo.

It's a laptop, there are no real "desktop replacements" If you want performance you need a desktop. I'm about to be getting a laptop, and I've come to terms that most games I will have to play on medium to high settings. even with SLI 750m's or a 770m.

Not to mention, you only have a 7670m which won't perform very well.

I don't think you need to RMA, because there is nothing wrong with your system. You either have to live with the performance, exchange it and spend more money to get something you need it to do, or get a desktop.

There is nothing wrong with your laptop.

You can't compare a 35-47 watt mobile CPU vs. a 125-130 watt desktop CPU. The desktop i7 has more cache, higher clock speed, and operation tuned for performance, whereas your mobile i7 is tuned for lower power consumption and improved battery life.

First of all, make sure you are running the latest BIOS for your motherboard (check vendor updates & downloads).
Secondly check in BIOS if Turbo mode is enabled, on your chip the base frequency is only 2.4GHz, but with Turbo it should be boosting up to 3.4GHz when needed. Also make sure the Hyper-Threading is actually enabled in BIOS.
Lastly, try switching Windows Power Mode from Balanced (or otehr vendor customized Power Saver plan) to High performance and redo the Cinebench 11.5 x64 smile.gif

Your processor shouldn't be THAT much worse than a stock 3770K (boosting up to 3.9GHz though), apart from difference in base & boost clocks, 3630QM has Hyper Threading and only slightly less L3 cache (6MB vs 8MB).

thanks for the reply, the thing is , there is another laptop here in hand with the same GPU but it has an I5 CPU and it actually scores better then mine on both cinebench and 3D marks redface.gif

huh ... if you see better results on different laptop with same (o even worse!) hardware then definitely something is wrong with this one!
