You'll benefit from lapping the HS even without lapping the CPU. It would work best with lapping both, but lapping the HS will help a lot. What it mostly does is flatten out the surface , so that the contact is more complete.

the paste on the bottom, is actually MX1 i think - and in tests this has proven to be as good, if not better than AS5 - keep the stock stuff on, its very good!

Ok, I have read some of the reviews on newegg of the MX1, and I from what one guy said, the pre-applied paste is MX1. He sounded pretty amped about it, so I'm just gonna leave it. Thanks for the input guys.

i installed my acf64pro a couple of days ago. i cleaned off the mx1 (pad, lol) and used as5. so far, my cpu ran 3º HOTTER than my stock opty 165 cooler at idle. i pulled it off, cleaned it up, reapplied some as5 (used less than the 1st time thinking i may have used too much the 1st time), that brought it down to 2º hotter than the stock cooler. however, at load, it's 2º cooler than the stock cooler.

one thing though, how is everyone attaching their silverstone fans to this thing? i couldn't figure it out. not to mention, both the FM92 and FM82 do not clear my ram on the front of this thing, lol.

I ordered two of the FM82s with my mobo and CPU cooler, but I wasn't planning on using these with the Freezer Pro. Is the stock fan not very good? If not, then I'm going to measure and see if I can fit a 120mm Silverstone on this thing. :\\ more money.

I already tried a FM121 with a 92 to 120 adapter however the DFI heatsinks get in the way and the cooler doesnt sit high enough. I put a FM92 on there which is a 110mm fan in a 92mm housing.
