Hi guys,

Wanted to check up everyone's opinion on these 2 boards.

Both look very nice

eVGA Z87 Stinger (US$ 219.99 on Newegg)

Asus Maximus VI Impact (US$ 229.99 on Newegg)

I like the number of features cramped into the Impact, with so many daughterboards, including one for WiFi.

I voted for ROG because thats the board I ordered. I don't think you could go wrong with either.

If the 'stinger' is anything like the Z77 board EVGA released then defo get the Asus.Z77 stinger was not very highly regarded at all and bios was apparently terrible,it was nice to look at though.

Impact all of the way, it has proven to be a solid board, great BIOS and you know it will stay support by Asus.

Interested in this too, I'm trying to get the impact or deluxe personally, didn't know about the evga until now

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=13-132-028

It got 2 more usb ports and 2 more sata ports and cheaper

Newegg doesn't list wifi with the evga Unlike the other 2 asus boards

Bluetooth 2 on the EVGA versus 4 on the asus and it got less usb ports than both asus boards

the impact is a really nice board. I just got mine a couple days ago. The bios is so nice and easy to use. it is alot like my RIVE but it is even better now and they gave it a fresher look. There are also a ton of features. There is also a little ssd chip you can buy and it installs in the new module this board has where the wifi is. I wish they could put the sata ports on the edge somehow because I still haven't figured out how I will route them. They are in the same place it looks like on both boards though.

I vote Impact but I have never had an EVGA board so it's hard for me to judge there board.

go with the asus, unless EVGA will do something about their BIOS on the new z87 board. asus still has more hardware features though, i think

I voted Impact as well. It beats the Stinger across the board in features (more power phases, more fan headers, rear debug etc) and Asus has a much better mobo track record.

I'd even expect the impact to have better onboard audio, despite the fact that the stinger uses a SC3D chip. It has no isolation or visible EMI shielding, and apparently no headphone amp either.

Like Booty, I decided to go with the Impact as well. The reason is, I have the P8Z77-I Deluxe and that was one solid board. Once I saw the Impact, I knew that was the next board I was getting. This doesn't mean that I might end up with a Stinger in the future because I have other builds that I am going to do but I would like to see some reviews before doing that.

Oh, and yes, the Z87 Stinger has the MAX97220 which is DirectDrive line headphone amplifier.
