So I got my card, kind of confused on the entire thing. Ordered the GPU listed in OP, but all the signs seems to point that it's a Boost Edition but doesn't say so on the side of the box. 1] Because it says so on the front of the box. 2] Because it came stock 960mhz. I guess that is what the boost edition mhz was, 880 stock/960boost [information from MSI website, I don't know if I'm right or not] but I no nothing and still just looking for a little help in the right direction on this learning experience.

Anyways, based on the config and such, I like this waterblock more EK-FC7950 for AMD Reference Design Radeon HD 7950 - Acetal + EN (Nickel)

Based on these pictures below is how I have chosen my waterblock

*Yes, I'm a noob to GPU's

I dont think that is a reference PCB, yours is showing V277-029 where cooling config is showing V277-019R . List also shows compatibility for all as visual, not confirmed. But I will let someone else that may know for sure chime in.

I can help you out. I just spent 3 months trying to water cool my 2 7950's. I can tell you that about 90% or more of the 7950 made now are not reference. I had 2 cards wc running i got about a year ago and one gave out ....still under warranty right so I wasn't worried. This was true but the new card they sent was not reference so my cooler would not work with it.... as of right now the only 7950 I know or that still is reference is the HIS 7950.... xfx is also able to send you reference cards but you have to call xfx tech support them selves and ask for it befor you buy anything.

Here is the thread if you need more info.

That's why you have to take the cooler off and check. PCB's change all the time. At the very least look at the back of the card and the edge furthest from the video ports. 7950 PCB's have 3 mount holes and 7970 have 4. Even then its always possible they changed the PCB to completely non reference so its best to check properly.
