We always hear from the civil engineering departments of falsified stamped steel beams outsourced from China; or a dated case where plastics were mixed in milk to pass FDA in NA for protein content in milk. It's very unfortunate.

not just improve the reputation, but actually improve qc and regulation. which it seems like they are doing right now with the major corruption crackdown they are doing, but i wouldn't say they've been totally successful yet

Also comes down to the business ethics from the head's of the company. If the mindset of the CEO encourages the poor QA, or the fabrication of the product, is lies in the mentality, and since it is a wide spread concern, the sociology of the business ethics themselves. But you already said that based on their attempt to crackdown on these people.

Anyways, my point is that there is a reason to why China holds such a poor reputation regardless of whatever reason someone would choose to refute. And it just doesn't revolve around the quality of workmanship, nor the capability of the workers, but also the sociological aspects to business practice held over there. frown.gif

That's really a non sequiter though.

Yeah, social issues in china, blah blah.

Almost 100% of all of our computers are made in China, yet we don't even consider location in our purchases. Westerners are as a rule fairly hypocritical. They cry foul for things like the Foxconn suicides, and go buy an iphone later that day.

China's economy has improved by magnitudes this past decade, and not because they sell cheap crap, they sell quality items, like we all know, whether we want to admit it or not.
