Thread Starter
i really appreciate all the input guys. pretty set on the 7950 at this point, fits into my budget with the few other things i still need to buy.

any input on ram? i was planning on just a single stick 8gb that way in the future i can buy the same matching stick to get to 32 at one point?

and would a ssd drive be beneficial or just a regular HDD?

Id get 2 sticks to run in dual channel

Ssd is practically a neccisity. So much more responsive pc. Get a $80 120 gig The adata 900 in my htpc is very good for the price or a kingston v300 I think. Dont get under 120 less durability and speed

If you're doing intense editing you should consider the RAM a bit more too. I've been trying to locate a post I made on another forum but for the life of me can't

I can't remember which is important for OC'ng CL or ram speed, and which is more important for editing.

I do know that for haswell the sweet spot for OC is 1600 so I'm going to guess that CL is for OC and mem speed is for the other...

For a good 1150 motherboard, I got myself the z87x-UD3H after rebates it came to $115...a no brainer for me.
