Help me pick out a tv for use as a monitor.

Hello all I have been looking at televisions online but am having trouble choosing one. What is important to me is picture quality first, then 3-d. I think I prefer active 3-d and want around a 46inch screen. What's not important to me is all these smart tv features. If I could find a tv that has excellent picture quality without all the extra features such as a camera, hard drive, etc that would be ideal. Please help me choose Tv with a budget around $1000.

Most TV's can't display text properly when connected to PC's

Read some HD TV Test Reviews (best TV reviewers in the world) since they test PC support,. Refer to their highly recommend list and see what falls within your budget. Size shouldn't be a factor since you can always sit closer & anything over 32" will completely fill your field of view if you plan on sitting around 2-3ft away.

UK model #'s are slightly different. Example: Samsung UK=UE32F500 vs. North America UN32F5000

An update, I am no closer to making a decision. My options seem to be narrowed down to a yamakasi sparta, multiple yamakasi catleaps, or an HDTV probably a Sammy. The option for multimonito came up because it appears that I can get around 2 catleaps for the price of 1 sparta. I would probably end up having to get 3 so I do not have a bezel right in the middle. Can anyone give me your opinions? Especially those with experience of using an HDTV as a monitor. This will be used for everything from browsing, gaming, watching movies, etc. I have the options of mounting this on a wall, or I could look for a desk. My main concerns with the tv are the desktop experience, such as browsing and regular program use. My concerns with the sparta is the size. I have outlines of the screen sizes on my wall, and thought the 30 inch sparta isn't small, the 46 inch outline looks much better of course lol. I am having trouble visualizing the actual screens and quality. I would have to say that probably watching shows/movies and gaming are the more important things I would be doing.

Just to add I ordered a pair of bx8d2s and am worried that the sparta will be dwarfed by these speakers. I have not received them yet and would like to order my screen/screens by early next week so they arrive by the time my computer gets here.

This is true for my TV. 32" Salvania somethign or other... its 1080i resolution is actually 1366 x 768 or some crap. The win7 start button is like 3" round on screen. Test looks like frozen atari game. Just bad.

I must add the TV is old as dirt. 2007 maybe? yeah...
