2-way SLI EVGA GTX 780 Classified, looking for a PSU

Thread Starter
I'm about to be ordering my new system here in about a week and I'm trying to find a good ~1000w fully modular PSU that has the 4 x 8 pin PCI-E cables for my two 780 Classifieds. Any recommendations?

Seasonic platinum series 1000 watt or Cooler Master Silent Pro m2 1000 Watt .
Seasonic is the best and CM is decent.

Seasonic is the best and CM is decent.

The CM unit is not made by CM, and saying that seasonic is the best, is not 100% true because there are better psu's out there.

Anywat back to op's question:

You don't need 1000w for that. A 750W or 850W is more than enough.

What stores do you buy from? Easier to help if we know what your options are

Well I'm building a rendering/encoding/compressing/media editing machine, and this is the (updated) system I'll be running:

CPU: 4770k @4.5-4.8ghz (Depending on how I fare in the silicone lottery)
Mobo: ASUS Maximus VI Hero z87
Ram: 32gb G.Skill Trident X 2400
GPU: 2x GTX 780 Classified @ ~1500mhz core clock
SSD: 2x Samsung PRO 512gb
HDD: 3x 2tb WD Black 7200rpm
Cooling: Custom Water Cooling Loop w/ 16x 140mm Cougar Vortex HDB @ 700RPM

With all of that depending on the voltage I'll need for the OC on the 4770k and the 780's I'm looking at ~980 watts under load, which this machine will often be under full load so I'll definitely be in need of something beefier than a ~950.

As far as stores I shop from, I don't have a loyalty preference (as long as they're based in the US), with the amount of money I'm spending (I don't have deep pockets believe it or not) I buy for the best deal and RMA through the company that made the parts rather than the retailer. If you know of a a REALLY good liquid cooling retailer other than Frozencpu.com I'd be really interested in that though. lol

You still wont need more than 850W. Something like a calculator is never accurate!

See this video and get some basic knowledge about how much you need:
