XMAS Conroe Build (finally OCed!!!!!) - Page 5

if your RAM is DDR 1000...and your running it at 840ish mhz...you probably need to tighten up the timings. It could be to sloppy to operate at that speed.

If I were you, i would raise the multi back to 9 and shoot to OC your RAM....1:1 is NOT always the best way to run your system. Since your RAM is so fast, a 2:3 would give you some better results, as long as you set your cpu multi accordingly. Your NB should run at the same speed, using a higher multi but with better latencies.

ie.-> 380fsb * 9 = 3.42ghz
428fsb * 8 = 3.42ghz

using the 9x multi, you are able to run your RAM faster @ the same fsb speed. You are also keeping your nb at a lower fsb strap, which will run a tighter latency. I was able to get my highest benchmark results and Superpi times this way.

well um, i cant run my multi at 9. its sorta impossible, everyone just seems to think that you either get a 6300 or a 6600 so when they see a x8 multiplier they think your runnin a 6600 with a lower multi. gosh people give the 6400 a chance lol.

im definatly gonna screw around with the settings some, try everything on auto and a different divider and what not, just gotta find the time to do it, if only i didnt need sleep.
