It gets hate sadly because AMD just deals with their architecture differently to Intel. But people expect an intel core to be equivalent to an AMD core and go 'durrrr, my intel only has 4 cores and its better than yours.'. The AMD FX 8350 was often compared to intels 3770k and subsequently was made to look poor because the 3770k performed better in most things. But it was a bit of a weird comparison because the 3770k is something like 100$ more expensive, which when the 8350 is only 200$ is something of a difference. Wouldn't you compare the AMD chip to a chip priced the same on the intel side? If you did that the AMD chip looks quite good for what it is.
