Is 4K upsaling that good that people buy 4K tvs with pretty much no 4K media?
I know right, there are so many things that aren't clicking here.
Gamers are typically the first consumers at the cutting-edge of high resolutions, but in order to make it "standard" it has to be adopted by movies and media (followed by TV manufacturers)in order to draw peoples' interest.
have been the logical step forward for TV and movies, but it hasn't happened...at all. I would love to see something like Avatar or Pacific Rim at 1440p, judge for myself if it's truly a solid step up for movies.
It's futile to push 4K TV's when 1440p hasn't even become the media standard yet. Unless the world plans to directly leap from 1080p to 4K, which is what appears to be happening....wow, so crazy.
