think about it.
Im not talking about throwing a video card on a PCI slot, I was more thinking about something like a sound card. BTW, I was thinking PCI ---> PCI-E * 1, not PCI-E ---> PCI. Anyways, it would be nice for those of us whose video cards take up to slots each, was just wishful thinking though.

even if they could technologically make an adapter like that, the card wouldn't line up right with the case

It's not possible with a lot of hardware. PCI and PCI-e are very different interfaces that talk to the CPU in very different ways. You have a much much better chance of finding a PCI-e 1x soundcard.

Lol, if something like that came out I would mod my case to make it fit. That being said, it wouldn't be very hard, just use an longer screw. Nothing a little human ingenuity couldn't overcome.

Been looking, trust me.

I've never seen or heard of a x1 soundcard, just to let you know You could try a nice USB soundcard, those can be better than an internal card.

true, but no one would make a product that would require you to mod your case to use it

I read somewhere that the reason that there aren't any PCIe soundcards is because the interface is so different it isn't suited well for soundcards

No idea of performance or how it fits but it would be interesting to see if the gigabyte i-ram performs any bett...just can't seem to find one now
