Oh, lol.. I never even looked at that : ) so do ya think I'll be good for a while on my crap/ cheap game system... lol.. I've built better rigs for customers than I can afford for myself... I seriously need to charge more for my builds... but heck... I don't really need it.. can only play a couple days a week. here is a link to mine at sustainable settings.. ie not benchmark only clocks... http://www.3dmark.com/3dm11/7305857 that's pretty much where i leave it for gameing... does me pretty well.. but I don't have eyefinity anyway so fps is always above 60 except in really gpu intense games... may upgrade to the fabled 8000 series some time from now

Try overclocking that memory little bit too, 1400-1600MHz should be easily achievable @stock volts.

I actually hit 1500 mem clock with it, but couldn't tell one bit of difference with overall performance with it... benches showed a few points gain... biggest gain in benches came from upping the power limits and core clocks... oh and also upping the power limits on my cpu... went to +130 on it at the same clocks and got much better physics score... maybe I'm doing something wrong on OC'ing the gpu, I'm still a bit of a newby on a steep learning curve... core temps on the gpu in game at current settings stay around 63C and hit as high as 72 C under severe stress testing.. so temps are good in my opinion... mostly because I see some of these cards with standard ref coolers hitting 80C at stock clocks out there. I can get 1225 mhz stable, but under stress it reverts to 900 mhz again... guess I need more than +20% power to support that... 1250 mhz isn't stable... and thanks to FX1 bios I'm volt locked... but at least its volt locked at a high 1.25v, don't think I really want to push higher than that anyway.... maybe there is some key ingredient I'm missing here though.

Don't get me wrong... I am absolutely tickled with the results I'm getting out of this card as it is... just a habit of mine to try to get all I can safely get out of my hardware... and I don't keep my units over 4 years, so longevity isn't really on my list of things to consider... I blew my 8150 system up after only one year only because I wanted to upgrade... lol I just pushed and pushed that poor chip to 1.7vcore and 5.5 ghz on air... then the vrms pooped out on the mobo and fried it, the power supply and a few other things... I vowed then that my next system would have fire and not just smoke lol... so far this system hasn't coughed... but my silly cpu won't go over 5.2ghz for nothing.. not voltage or anything.. I even tried disabling all cores but one and cranked the voltage up... 5.2 fine... 5.3 no boot.. I could get 4 cores stable on 1.45volts at 5 ghz... the other 4 take a bit more... had all 8 running at 5 ghz semi stable at 1.55.. but oh the heat of it all... my poor H80 couldn't hold comfy temps for me... my old air cooler didn't do much worse on the 8150 ...but then I didn't care if it blew so 80C didn't even phase me.. .this chip hasn't seen past 65C yet... and that was only once while benching.

Right just because you say so? Have you run tests to prove so? I've run plenty from Unigine to FS, and using gold 6950s to gold 7970. It takes two 6970s to lose to a 7970.

http://www.3dmark.com/fs/932972

6970 x2 at very high clocks, which most cards would never achieve w/o watercooling. My old quad 6950s were probably the fastest 6950 quad on ocn and they ran at 950/1450.

http://www.3dmark.com/fs/198396

6950s for comparison

http://www.3dmark.com/fs/76010

7970, very old run with very mild clocks.

Want to see the same card with some serious clocks?

http://www.3dmark.com/fs/978262

I would jump on the 7970/280x train while the getting is good and you can't beat 300 bucks which about what the 6950s sold for.

I do love them : ) I'm actually trying to be responsible with these chips... I am really impress with what they can do for the price I paid.. I mean.. I paid 200$ for this gpu lol... great steal ... I mean deal lol... and this cpu, well.. it isn't golden, but give it the juice and I can maintain comfy temps at 4.6ghz... and still get 7.7 on cinebench (not that it matters, but 8.2 on WEI)
