Realtek HD Audio Manager

Thread Starter
I've ASUS Hero motherboard (see sig).
The "Realtek HD Audio Manager" starts up with Windows 8 each time. I wonder what is it's use. I only game either with stereo speakers or with surround headphones. The surround headphones have their own app that manages the surround vs stereo setting.
Sound-wise it's mostly games & videos.

What benefit does Realtek HD Audio Manager give in my situation?

Should I just disable it from start-up list?

I frequently disable those programs for sound cards and video cards without any problem.  Just disable it (from the Startup tab in Task Manager) and reboot; and if you have any problems with sound, it is very simple to re-enable it. thumb.gif
