I was thinking it would also be great for blu-rays, that was another factor in me considering it. The main reason I didn't was that they are still like 600 bucks, and for 150 more, I could do triple ASUS VG246QE's.

I said several times that I am the same player in TN and IPS panels, and although I admit that 120hz 1080p was a very smooth experience, an IPS 1440p is just more immersive. Both are perfectly fine for gaming.

I feel like a better player with 120Hz but there is no way of proving it, it does make me feel more confident especially with my aggressive playstyle.

Oh yeah for movies they are great. That aspect ratio is cool with movies. Especially bluray.

At the end of the day what is important is the skill of the player. Monitors help just a bit, and they don't do miracles :)

Damn dude..

Read threw the last pages... u just don't get it. Monitor doesn't matter to you for gaming, but it certainly does to others. You cannot accept that.

I have monitors for all occasions, but 120hz+ gaming is the way to go, for those many of millions of competitive FPS players.

That... obviously you are not a part of.

No no no you don't understand it.

The dude said play each other and see who is better. If a person with IPS panel is a great FPS player and If a person with a TN panel is a mediocre FPS player than the person with the IPS panel will play BETTER than the person with TN player. At the end of the day FPS gaming is about talent.

I think you need to open your eyes and try to understand a bit more what is written instead of being bias.

So If a person is a mediocre player he will not magically beat better players just because he has a 120hz TN panel.

I hope you understand it.

I may not be a part of a competitive player but you are not a part of a person that understands stuff. Sorry no offense. Please try harder next time instead of rage bashing.

Honestly, Get the monitor you enjoy, I won't ever hand over my 1440p IPS 120hz display, not even if you paid me to.

I held way above a 2.1 KDR prior of playing competitively during the BF3 Alienware Tournament. I don't play metro, and I hardly even use vehicles.

23.3% Accuracy, 2.5 W/L, 610 SPM (Would be well over 800's if I actually pubbed more) Hardly pubbed and only played scrims/matches majority of the time. Oh and this was all done when I had 60 or less fps and on my 60hz monitor.

If I played the game now my current setup with my 144hz monitor, I could easily hit 25-30% accuracy easy. BF3 was a joke of a game overall, compared to BF2.

I've played on American servers in both BF2 and BF3. The average skill level on American pub servers is far lower than here in AU/NZ. Not being bias. The gap between the average pub'er and the 'good peeps' is much more narrow here than in the US. The gap was bigger in BF2 but still. Maybe that's due to a higher player base due to increased population, I dunno.

Was part of the winning team / clan in the BF2 AU/NZ competition a few years ago, that included one of the best jet pilots in the world (35 KDR). I, as the best BF2 mobile AA person (including pre-patch AA buff) in Aus/NZ, didn't even dare to hop in the AA if he was in the other team in a pub server because I knew I was going to be in for a very bad time despite all my knowledge on how to counter jets etc in a mobile AA. Mobile AA in BF2 was all about patience and timing and positioning. long range anti tank sniping was always fun lols (takes insane amount of skill tbh).

Bring back infantry only Road to Jalalabad!

Huh, interesting stuff.
I'd never know what a US server is like because playing at 150-200ms in this game feels like playing at 500ms in any other game (read: baaaaaaaaad).
