This can't be more true and I found out the hard way. I recently bought my first Intel combo, an ASUS P8Z77-VLK paired with a 3570k because of a bottleneck with my current AMD/ATI setup.

I know its an i7 being compared, but this comparison made the decision easy for me biggrin.gif

Thats weird.
FX with OC does not get boost? So weird...

First i have to say that i prefer Intel... but it is very expensive...
But then AMD TDP = 95/125 - huge difference?

Here is my test about power consumption
I have FX 6300 4,5Ghz ... My Power consumption +5/10W ... But at 3,5Ghz actually that CPU has lower power consumption than i5/i7...
I did Prime 95
-all components while running prime 95
1. Stock V 160W - 3,5/4,1Ghz
2. 1.175V - 120W - 3,5Ghz
3. 1.375V+ LLC high - 168W 4,5GHz

GPU 5870 stock V (900/1250)- 1.175V/3,5GHz
While playing Games
- Crysis 3 -- 180-220W
- BF:BC2 -- 200-235W
- BF3 -- 190-225W

235W is that really THAT much?
NOT!!
- Light/Lamp - usually has 80-100W...

About perfromance
- YOU wont see difference between 60FPS and 120FPS
- Mostly GPu will bottleneck you CPU
- GW2/WoW i can say that FX=i3 with more overclock even faster

AND 1 more thing
-If we look at new Mantle and new directX ... then AMD CPU are really good for their price

I like overclocking that why i choose AMD it is much cheaper.
