First thing I noticed when I took my QF Rapid out of the box was the weight. It's *so* much heavier and sturdier than any cheap plastic membrane keyboard.

I just got that keyboard myself after using the cheap kind for the last 20 years or so. Man oh man what a difference. Like someone said the first thing I noticed was the weight. These things are 3 times as heave, but in a good way. I also find myself typing less mistakes as well. Gaming is awesome on it and since it has no keypad it takes up a lot less space which is also nice. I went with the black keys and couldn't be happier. The only ding I would give it is the matte material on the bezel, not keys mind you but the bezel. If you rest your finger on any part of that, at least in my case you will get finger prints on it, like oil and it will not come out. Maybe its just my hands but I rest my fingers above the arrow keys and now I have 3 permanent finger print makers right above the keys. So watch out for that...

The QFR is a great starter mech board, good choice! Also mx browns are easily the best switch type IMO, love them in my KBT Poker II.
