dual monitors - strain on GPU? - Page 2

If your planning to set up dual monitors there will be no change in your computers performance. Or at least that's what I have noticed, If your wanting to play games on one screen and browse the web on the other it isn't as simple as it seems. Most games will not allow you to move your mouse to the other screen while playing, and if they do, and you can click on the second screen it will usually alt tab you.

So if your planning to play any game with dual screens usually windowed mode is the best, because you can hide the borders in between the two screens, at least that's what I do. thumb.gif

If im not mistaken, some of the multi monitor 3rd party software will let you game on one and use the other screen too. As well as some other uses. Unfortunately, none of it is free. I will look and see if I can find the one i was checking out before i decided to go surround.

I'm doing exactly that on a 2GB 7850. No problems in games at all. Rendering a display for Steam, a system monitor in Rainmeter, and Winamp is barely anything compared to 8x AA at 1080p. You might run into issues with some games where moving the cursor to the side of the screen instead causes it to move the the second monitor, but you can just detach a cable if you need to.
