Would EaseUS Todo Backup 6.0 be capable of doing what you're talking about?

And when you say enough room, do you mean there has to be a certain amount free in the SSD?

For example, I'm using 400 gigs right now in my RE4. Two partitions (Both windows reserved and other stuff).

I want to clone it to a 500 Gig Samsung Drive.

Is 100 GB enough and would my Windows 7 version act strange because it's coming from an HDD to a SSD?

+rep for the help so far. smile.gif

You can just use the Acronis True Image WD Edition Software It´s pretty straight forward. (and free)

Just select the drive your cloning from ( your 400gs on the WD then select your Sammy as your new drive to be cloned to. If the WD is your boot drive , when the cloning is finished and you reboot you will have to select the Samsung as your first boot drive in the bios
Good luck

I think this has alot to do with case, I just picked up 3 500GB re4 for raid 5 and inside my supermicro hotswap Bays they are silent, more silent than all of my green drives be it that all I hear from green is head seek noise and nothing from re.

So I don't think they are inherently louder just without vibration dampening they COULD be louder due to higher rpm?

Cover the drive in rubberbands, I know it sounds absolutely rediculous however it works with the rubber dampening the shaking.

Will an AAM utility work on that drive? HDDscan is one such program.
