I know it's 2400 so has a ram speed of 1200, which means the CPU/NB speed would have to be 3600 or outside if the Phenom II range so no way my system can take full advantage but still puts me in a good position once I upgrade my system in 12 months time...

Also it seems to be recommended for Intel systems, could that be a problem? I ask cause as I said in my initial post the problem I've hand with my Patriot RAM and that was recommended for Intel systems as well and don't want to make the same mistake twice...
Have you tried to oc your CPU/NB speed on that CPU?
You can always clock them down to 1600 and tighten up the timing on them.

No I have not tried to OC, I think my rig can handle at least a small OC and even planned to tried when I was originally building it but never did, guess I was happy with the performance I got out of it. Anyway I bought that G.Skill 2400 RAM... Can't wait for it to be delivered...
