Folding Question for nVidia GTX680 folders

Thread Starter
If you are getting the full points on your 680 (90k ppd and up), could you tell me what driver version you are using, and what folding client?
I am using 320.49 and 7.3.6, but am only getting 1/2 points (about 45k ppd) right now and I'm trying to work out what the problem is.
Thanks for any help, guys!

Im using 320.49 @ 7.3.6 and getting ~105k ppd.

What WU's are you pulling? Do you have the beta flag set?

Yes, I have the client-type=beta in the config for GPU. I am currently folding a P8900 with a tpf of 7:04, a total points of 21,943, and a ppd of 44,714.1. That's just....wrong! My gpu utilization shows as 99.0%, but my temps is at 52.0C and fan at 24%, with an ambient probably 76f. And I am using the same driver and client as you, with an ASUS DirectcuII GTX 680 running at 1201 mhz, 24x7 folding. I'm just kinda upset about this. Thanks for the info though!

Ive actually seen the exact same behavior. It was an unstable overclock for me. Try pulling up the power limit (or power usage %, depending on your GPU OC client). For me, i showed 99% GPU usage, but my temps were real low. I discovered my power usage was only at like, 40-45%. It would show 90-95% for maybe 60-90 seconds, before it "crashed" down to the 40's.
Lowering my overclock, and restarting the client fixed it.

Ok, think I found and fixed the issue. The thing was throttling down to 705mhz. Even reboots didn't change that. I removed and reinstalled drivers, removed GPU Tweak and MSI Afterburner, and installed EVGA Percision-X, did another reboot. now it's show a GPU clock of 1228, and I just picked up an 8900. Showing a 4:00 tpf, total points 29,041, and ppd of 104,548. THAT'S more like it! thumb.gif

I had the 705 issue also, on my MSI GTX 660 Ti PE The first time I reset afterburner to default and reinstalled the drivers and that cleared it up to my normal 1306 MHz. The second time (which I figured out I was causing it by pushing my OC settings too far) I just reset afterburner and unchecked all the "start with windows" and "apply overclock on reboot" settings and that cleared it up.

Thanks for the info on precision I've been considering trying it out. I haven't overclocked a GPU since back when I had an EVGA 8600 GTS back when it was a badass card, quite a while ago lol.
