Help me find a pocketable camera - Page 2

Unfortunately not all towns have dedicated photo stores, and BestBuy's are their best bet for electronics.

But anyway, Here in a bit i'll go take a few pictures with different cameras at the store and compare them and see what I like best. Hopefully they will be okay with letting me take pictures and save them on my card.

I feel bad for the camera I'm getting, I know i'm gonna beat it up and abuse it a bit.

yeah at my store they like me enough ill do price matches for any of my customers that find a deal on a respectable website that i would buy my own gear from as well. we dont normally price match B&H lol

but yeah. best buy bashing will not offend me. i only work there as a reliable source of income to keep my student loans paid. its a fun job that i do enjoy but my feelings are not easily hurt smile.gif

So I bought a camera, and it didn't hit me till the other day.

something simple, tiny, portable, pocketable, durable, something to take on motorcycle trips.... Sounds exactly like a GoPro!

Ended up getting a GoPro Black, and ofc the video quality is amazing, but the picture quality works out too, only 12MP but using its burst mode you can get pretty decent pictures.

12MP is plenty for a photo to share online or print thumb.gif

Yeah, thats what I was aiming at. Most online uploaders ( FB, Twitter, etc ) and my personal photoblog all downscale pictures anyway, and for prints 12mp is plenty for standard 3x5 prints.

Now I just gotta get a helmet mount tongue.gif

I'm Also excited about all the new ideas and things I can do with it that I can't do with most other cameras, its small size, durability, and waterproofing case are starting to give me some really good ideas.

Pop this thing on my Joby Gorillapod and I can stick it just about anywhere.

I really like the canon EOS-M with the 22mm prime, but for that price I could get a decent used wide angle lens ( which is really what i'm looking to use this camera for ) and can even get an adaptor for my bigger lens's. and they can be had for about $350, but to me thats kind of a steep price. ( price of a 35mm or 20mm that i've been wanting )

Any other suggestions for me?

TL;DR, need pocketable camera for indoor use, good low light performance, dont care for fancy un-needed features

Rumor has it new canon EOS M coming. I would wait it out if you can.

I already got me a new camea, and the new EOS-M is gona cost around what the original MSRP of the M was.

As freitz said...best bet...

So if the fastest, most expensive CF will make one take better, faster pictures...then surely the most expensive and highest dpi mouse will make me a faster and better gamer. tongue.gif
