AMD or NVIDIA? - Page 2

I could be wrong when I say this but it's not really the core clocks or mem speeds that are the significant factors here. A 980mhz core clock vs a 1000mhz core clock, even 1100 core clock doesn't seem to be a significant difference. Same with mem clocks, 5500 vs 6000 is not a big difference.

The two or perhaps 3 factors to me that blow the gtx out of the water are as follows.

bus width - 384 AMD vs 256 Nvidia
stream processors - 2048 vs 1344
finally vram - 3gb vs 2gb

Am I wrong in saying these factors play a much bigger role than core/mem clock speeds that differ by about 10% give or take?

I'm in canada and I'm keeping track of prices weekly but thank you for the advice on msi...I like msi for their good stock coolers but their prices never seem to drop since I've started watching nearly 2 months ago...gigabyte or asus are my best bet...they have great sales and their coolers aren't bad.

Im sure most of you do this but I've only recently ripped off my cooler from my 550gtx to clean up the mess manufacturers call thermal paste application...dropped my temps by a bit especially at full load...so I'll be doing this with all my cards from this point on.

lol I wish I knew what you just said because it does sound funny biggrin.gif I'm assuming the blowing hair in the wind comment refers to loud fans?
no the hair-blowing in the wind is the end result in all the Radeon marketing crap about competing with nVidia PhysX.
TOTAL FAIL.

and here is the end result:

^
working on and talking about all this like they have game...
maybe just adding fans would have helped them..
and this is the only sample I can even find..
