Confused About Temps

Thread Starter
I have the 4770k and H100i

when playing a game my temps are so:

CPU - MAX = 42c

Core 0 - MAX = 53c
Core 1 - MAX = 55c
Core 2 - MAX = 52c
Core 3 - MAX = 49c

Package - MAX = 55c

Why is CPU so low compared to the cores? I mean 42c is what my cooler will think the temp is right (and the fans will only spin to RPM for 42c)? What can I do to lower these temps?

Because the CPU temp is measured somewhere else, if at all. It is a totally meaningless number. What matters is the core temps or the package temp (which is just the highest core temp).

2 different ways of measuring temp = 2 answers, simples thumb.gif
