Geforce GTX780 or the Radeon 9970?

Thread Starter
I'm currently looking at getting a GTX780 for my new build and I was wondering if I should get that or wait for the Radeon 9970 graphics card

Just get the 780 and call it the day smile.gif It is a great card and performs on par or better with some titans.
Though if you really want to wait, the 9970 is rumored to be around titan performance, probaly for less money.

Edit: I just bhougt a Evga 780 SC ACX and can post some bench of it when I get it up and runnning later today.

what about if you let the card come out and see some benchmarks? At this moment is hard for anyone to tell you that since we dont know the performance of the card thumb.gif

when you want to spend USD 650 its worth waiting and checking out what the competition is going to be like. if anything the HD 9970 will bring lower prices on GTX 780 too. HD 9970 is expected to retail at USD 600 and be on par with Titan perf.

So close and yet so far for some too wait!

I myself would wait a tad longer. And not just to see what is better, but also the price war. Oh and the free games as well thumb.gif

Nothing worse then kicking your own butt later down the line biggrin.gif

780 is better quality imo, 9970 i'm sure will have a lot of raw power, but will games use that power across the board? even directx 9 games won't have frame pacing fixed until next year, if ever...

If we still have DX9 games coming out with next gen titles starting to flood the shelves for good starting next year, there is something wrong.
