Solder or TIM on Haswell Xeons?

Does anyone know what's under the IHS of a Haswell Xeon?

Also, please jog my memory: What's is it that differentiates the Xeons from their equivalently specced non-K i7 counterparts again? What makes a Xeon E3-1275v3 worth more than a i7-4771 aside from ECC memory support?

Most likely solder, they wouldnt compromise on Server CPUs considering the margins.

Dual QPI Links allowing for multiple CPU configurations.
