Question RE: NZXT Sentry Mix 2

Thread Starter
Just put one of these into my build (although I may be removing it soon...) and it seems like it cuts in and out... I thought this controller was hardware controlled, i.e. the sliders were connected directly to wipers on pots/rheos, but when the system initially starts, the fans are at 100% for a second or two before dropping down, and at seemingly random intervals they will go from the setting on the slider back to 100%, back down to where I have them set. This latter example seems to be a problem with the device.

Is there some micro-controller nonsense involved? I could just take it apart I guess to see for myself, but if there actually is an issue with it I'd rather not go tampering so I can possibly return it.

I would say you have a funky controller. I have the same controller and while using 5 Cooler Master 120mm PWM fans I would get the initial rev up of fans for a second or two then they would drop down to what I had the slider set at. I never had any of the fans rev or pulse while being used, didn't matter what settings I had the controller on or what I was doing.
