Dell XPS 710 and nForce 590 SLi Chipset Cooling

Hi guys,

I have a friends Dell XPS 710 with the H2Ceramic cooler that I'm replacing. For those of you unfamiliar with the system the liquid cooling leaked terribly and was just a disaster in general.

My main query is this:

Since the northbridge (nForce 590 Sli) was also water cooled, I believe that will probably need a new heatsink and/or fan. I'm really struggling to find anything that looks like it will fit well, and I was trying to avoid a bodge-job by just epoxy-ing a 40mm fan or similar to it. Can anyone point me to a fan/heatsink that would work (no newegg links please, I'm in the UK tongue.gif). See the attached pic for the MOBO layout.

Secondly, for replacing the CPU heatsink, I've got another PC with the same processor (QX9650) running stable at 3.6Ghz on an Artic Cooler Pro 7 (rev2) and wondered if you guys had any other suggestions? Not that this cooler isn't fantastic (especially for the price) but myself, my friend (whos PC it is) and his girlfriend are all PhD students and may want to use the PC for running intensive simulations so it may not quite cut it.

An addition to this last point, is that the PC may be on and unattended while we are at work, and so reliability (so the fan doesn't fail and burn the house down) would be a real plus tongue.giftongue.giftongue.gif

Cheers!

No thoughts? frown.gif

After doing a little research, I'm thinking an Arctic Freezer Pro 7 Rev2 for the CPU and a 80mm Case fan should give good air flow. For the northbridge I was looking at the Titan Northbridge Cooler (

) and just bonding it down permanently with some arctic silver thermal adhesive.

Reckon this should suffice?
