[DS] The Witcher 3′s Fur Tech Will Probably Bring Your GPUs To Their Knees. - Page 14

They should remove this horrible feature and, while they're at it, make it more accessible to casual gamers. Oh and add multiplayer with death match....

That's the vibe I've picked up from this thread. Purchasing a $1,000+ PC without the games to push it wouldn't be very exciting

Kinda disappointed that they went PhysX vs OpenGL or their own in-house solution.

Honestly, nobody should be running Furmark in the first place. That thing does way more harm than good.

Actually I do remember reading about one last week with the new HDMI 2 spec and DisplayPort. Capable of 60 FPS at 4k. But it's $6k lol.

We'll be able to get better TVs in 1-2 years for half that price, and hardware might actually have a chance at getting 60FPS with 4K. tongue.gif

if it wasn't for Nvidia's initiative in the first place, we wouldn't even be discussing this effect. We'd just have wolves that looked like they're from Skyrim...

Not that. More like "better fur" is a pretty minor advancement. I remember when whole games offered new and challenging tech.

Now we're supposed to be excited by piecemeal advancements for games that otherwise look a lot like each other.

Robert I think you may underestimate the challenge of creating fluid independent hair.

There are a lot of tricks but true hair is a major tech step.
Much like when water became transparent and shadows became dynamic.
