New rig for around 1500$?

Thread Starter
So looking to build a rig for around 1500$. Could be a little more. I've been told to go the intel route and have been looking at the P5B Deluxe to base my system off. Been out of the loop for a little while and never built a intel system before so I figured I'd ask for some help here. Going to need a:

Mobo
Memory
PSU
Video Card
CPU
HD (120+)

I'd get:
2GB of G. Skill DDR2 800 HZ Ram - $300
PC Power & Cooling Silencer 610 - $170
Intel Core 2 Duo E6300 Processor- $190
Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 250GB - $80
Asus P5B-Deluxe P965 Motherboard - $180
nVidia 8800GTS DirectX 10 Video Card - $400

Total:
$450 + 200 = $650. $650 + 80 = $730. $730 + 180 = $910. $910 + 200 = $1,100. $1,100 + 300 = $1,400. You add Shipping, Handling, and Tax you get a $1,500 Core 2 Duo Rig. If you want better CPU/GPU cooling I'd drop that memory to something cheaper, case and point:
2GB of OCZ DDR2 800 Ram - $210
or
2GB of Corsair DDR2 800 Ram - $235

[OCN] Ninja_Boy

With that Corsair Ram it'll set you back $1,434.74 shipped. You could drop an Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 & Arctic Silver 5 for $40 shipped. Make sure to get that stuff on Newegg they have great prices plus amazing holiday specials ($40 off ram, $30 off 8800GTS, cheap yet fast shipping, etc.).

I would keep the 6400 and save yourself 100.00 and I would keep the P5B as it can OC that CPU to 3ghz easy. My choice in RAM (G.Skill) is sold out so I would say keep your choice. I would get a much cheaper case around 80$ MAX, but I would mod ik for cooling purposes. I would then take the extra cash and get this VC http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814186011. I know that Evga has a great RMA policy but even a 5 year is just as good, I mean in 5 years you will probly have bought like 2 other rigs lol.

The computer is for my sis, and thats the case she picked out so...that part was pretty much all her. As for the Vid card, i've never heard of Foxconn. Do you have the wrong vid card because you mention evga?

No I was just using Evga as a comparison because that is what you listed. And well as far the whole case and VC thing if it's what she wants and it's for herthen thats what she gets right lol. So yeah the rig you picked seems great IMO
