So I recently thought my motherboard blew out, but I was being a dummy and using the wrong cable for my new 27" Qnix monitor. I plugged in the right cable and boom system fired up.
CPU: i7 970
RAM: 6GB Corsair Hyper X Ram
Mobo: Asus P6X58D-E
CPU:Intel Core i5-4670K Haswell 3.4GHz LGA 1150 84W Quad-Core Desktop Processor Intel HD Graphics BX80646I54670K
MOBO: BIOSTAR Hi-Fi Z87X 3D LGA 1150 Intel Z87 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard
RAM: G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 2133 (PC3 17000) Desktop Memory Model F3-2133C9D-8GXL $69.99
Total Amount: 388.97
I am not sure what I should do....is it worth keeping the new system? Will I have any performance gains? I use this primarily for gaming 2560x1440 60hz. CSGO, Civ 5, TL2,etc.
I can sell my i7-970 for at least 250 dollars, the motherboard for ~150, and ram who knows. So it will nearly be a wash if I keep the new system and sell the old.
Any advice would be appreciated!
