smashed my Monoprice 8323s now using (Sony MDRZX300/RED) should I get a sound card

Ok to make a long story short i smashed my monoprice 8323s because honestly i was so sick of them, they hurt even after 20 mins of use, they got super hot, they were bulky & they squeaked.

I picked up a pair of (Sony MDRZX300's) for $20.00 and honestly these headphones are pretty awesome. I am only using them for gaming and so far i really like them. I know there not Audiophile or OCN recommended but for $20.00 i am impressed.

Super light (I sometimes forgot there on)

Very clear sound (very detailed)

I use them for gaming for just about every game. Played WoW for about 3 hours using them and not a single issue with pain, heat or anything.

Ok now onto the real question. I am currently using onboard audio. If I choose to go this route should I buy a dedicated sound card? These are only 24 ohms. What do you guys think.

I was looking at sound cards and was looking at the ASUS XONAR_DG 5.1 for $30.00 Yes/No?

1) Might want to get your anger issues sorted.

2) Sony makes great entry heaphones, good pick.

3) No need for a sound card with your motherboard and headphone. As you said they are no quite audiophile status and there would be no difference in $30 headphones going from on board to a card. The $30 for a sound card would have been better spent in a $60 pair of headphones.

No, you'd likely only get some improvement from a low impedance amp but it wouldn't be worth spending money on. Your mobo has a decent chip, so there isn't any reason to spend money on a DAC with $20 headphones.

1. I smashed them not in anger but more of joy lol. I was not angry at all when I did it. my goal was to smash them.

2. These headphones are serving me very well honestly. They are super light, Comfortable & very clear sounding.

my only issue with them is when connected to my PC they sound amazing but once I connect them to my Ipod nano 2nd gen they sound really good but not like on my PC. Even playing with the EQ in my Ipod nano 2nd gen i can get the osund very good but not amazing. Im thinking maybe cause the ipod is so old that it just does not have the audio technology at newer ipods? Do newer ipods have better sounds and or amps in them then older gens? Im sure they do since its newer tech
