not sure if ur country has ebay, but 7970's are selling for like $250 they have hit rock bottom on resale value. just buy from a 100% feedback rating seller and u should be fine.

I'm currently using a universal block therefore there isn't any cooling on the RAMs. I suspect thats what killed my over-volted 6950. Since 7950 seems to be chewing down anything I throw at him at this moment, I won't be oc'ing too much just in case.

Mine are both running at 1100Mhz core clock and 1550Mhz mem clock on the stock reference blowers and stock voltage. They are a breeze to OC, but then again stock performance is pretty solid too, so either way should be great

Being so close to release i say wait the 7xxx might drop more in price but if you really cant wait the 7950 is still a great choice might even find a 7970 on sell in your budget or used.

I dunno. Remember the original retail price of a 7950 and 7970? Almost twice the price for what they are selling for today. I wouldn't be surprised to see the 9xxxx cards launch at similar prices and taking another 6 months to drop to more 'reasonable' levels. I paid $320 for my 7950 and I love it but I would have never paid $450 for it.

Exactly! The 7950 may not perform as good as what's around the corner. But what's around the corner surely won't have the FPS/$ ratio like the 7950 currently has.

I'm gonna be genuinely surprised if the 7950 drops in price anymore than it has once the 9XXX cards come out, maybe a little drop for the 7970, but not the 7950
