Check your Windows logs for errors. If your SATA port is malfunction or something, it may have timeout errors listed in there.

You could also get a DPC checker and see if a driver is locking the computer that long, but I kinda doubt it. DPC lags are generally counted in microseconds.

]Well I swapped RAM and it's still freezing, so I guess that's good because I don't have to replace my 16GB kit. I think the problem is driver-related because when I load Windows in safe mode w/ networking, it runs like new with no freezes to see or speak of.

Recently installed software included DeskScapes 8 (30-day trial), an update to razer synapse, an update to AVG, a re-install of the video drivers, and that's all I can remember since this started happening.

Where would one find these event logs? Reliability or event viewer? My main drive (Samsung 830 SSD) checks out 100% OK in HDTune.
