Question(s) about the Never Settle AMD bundle.

At the moment I am not sure what to do. You see, I already own many of the titles on the Gold list with the exception of Dirt Showdown. What I was wondering was if I could redeem my Gold Membership code and pick that title up and then give my friend the other two games. He has a pretty big backlog of games he is working through but has mentioned that the Far Cry 3 titles are on his wishlist. I figured it would get me off the hook as far as birthday presents are concerned since his is coming up in a few short days.

My concern, having never used AMD's codes before, is that once you redeem the Gold Membership code then all three keys will somehow be locked to one account. Would that be the correct assumption or would I be able to break up all three keys separately?

That should not be a problem. I gave most of my keys away (far cry 3 among them). Mostly because I would rather be dragged by my nuts than have to use that horrible Uplay BS. That crap is even worse than Origin.
If it's not on steam, it can suck my arse.

I know the feeling as I am in that exact same predicament of not wanting to use anything that is not on Steam or flat out DRM free :-(

When you say you gave your keys away, did you turn in the reward key first and then give out the individual keys to different people or did you just give the reward key to someone for them to turn in themselves?

When you redeem your gold coupon, you will be given individual game keys for the games you select and check out. You could give the two keys you don't need to your friend; it's fine.

OP please check with thracks. the 3 game keys have to be redeemed all at once. you cannot redeem 1 now and 2 later. btw Saints Row IV got added to GOLD rewards today. there is the expectation that BF4 might find a place in GOLD Rewards program.

http://www.anandtech.com/show/7218/amd-announces-never-settle-forever-bundle

"However there will be a trio of catches to banking redemption credit that need to be pointed out. First and foremost, AMD will not be announcing new games ahead of time. So whatever games they add in the future – and they have made it clear they will be adding games – are anyone’s guess, as will what tiers get those games (only gold tier is a given). The second catch is that silver and gold tier coupons, good for 2 and 3 games respectively, must have all of their games redeemed all at once; the credits can’t be split. So for example on a gold tier coupon it’s not possible to get Tomb Raider now, and then save just 2 of the credits for future use. It’s all or nothing, as it were. AMD didn’t go into great detail on why they’re handling the program in this manner, but judging from their current game lists it’s a reasonable assumption that they don’t want coupon holders “sniping” the most valuable (read: expensive to AMD) games. Finally, redemption coupons/credits are only valid until the end of 2013, so while buyers can bank their credits they can't bank them for too long, as they'll need to spend them by the end of the year."

http://www.anandtech.com/show/7297/saints-row-iv-added-to-amds-never-settle-forever-gold-tier

"To that end, AMD is announcing that Saints Row IV is the first new game being added to the program. Volition’s open world crime game was released back on August 20th to good reviews (Metacritic 86/100), making this the highest profile addition to AMD’s Never Settle program in some months and at 3 weeks one of the fastest turn-arounds for a new game"

"Finally, as a reminder AMD is allowing rewards to be banked until the end of the year. AMD doesn’t announce new games significantly in advance, but at this point based on previous AMD statements we’re expecting at least one more addition to the Gold tier before the year is out. So AMD customers holding or acquiring rewards points may want to hold on to their rewards for now if the current selection doesn’t fully engross them. "

I just redeemed my key for FC3 and did not have to DL uPlay. After I made the "purchase" from the Ubisoft store I got a direct DL for FC3.

Yes, I understand now. It is very logical that they would not allow you to cash them in one at a time as by the time a new game comes out, the last "new" game will have gone down in value - preventing that sniping-thing mentioned earlier.

Thank you everyone! thumb.gif
