The 5000 series IIRC you could run 2x screens on any port but the 3rd had to be displayport (flex cards being the exception) . from what i remember a displayport to vga adapter can be somewhat unreliable.

the GT600 series that i see have HDMI VGA and DVD-D which i dont believe DVI-D can be adapted to VGA

Yeah I had a passive adapter for display port to VGA for one monitor. I didn't have any problems with it though.

The only issue I did have is AMD was really dumb with their drivers and if you overclocked the GPU at all they lowered the idle clocks on the core and memory too low and the side monitors would flicker and flash. Editing the idle clocks in the bios fixed the issue though.

Are they reliable though? It is for a business environment and for a non tech person so they cant deal with them dropping out.

We actually have them in almost all of our conference rooms at work. Most of the projectors have a VGA cable on them...even the ones that could have DVI or HDMI. Not all devices have VGA ports on them, but pretty much everything has display ports or something that turns into a display port with another adapter.
