you probably don't want to,but give it a try with only 2 sticks of ram,,,using slot 2 and 4,,,,,it'll be less stress on the IMC,,,or manually set your memory back to 1333mhz and try overclocking with just the multis,,I really don't think its your VRMs at this point yet,,,i.m thinking its more the chip itself being a dud,,,also in the tools section of the bios the SPD information,,there should 2 or more memory settings,,,,an example would be the 1600 XMP setting will be something like 9-9-9-24-40,,,,then there should be another 1600 setting like 11-11-11-24-40,,way looser timings,,try that with the 4 sticks of memory,,that will take some of the stress off the IMC,,,might help some,,,,
you might know this already,,but if your memory is manually set to 1600mhz,,every digit you increase you FSB,,,will automatically raise your memory speed past its rated speed,,,thats why i.m saying the looser timings might help
good luck man I gotta go to work now,,,,,its fridayEdited by trailer park boy - 9/13/13 at 6:40am
