TELSTRA COAX MODEM HELP!

Thread Starter
hi all i live in Australia and i currently have a modem given to me by telstra which is a coax modem/router, but i have run into issues where the connection drops out due to a malfunction of the modem so if for any reason i got to reset or power down the modem it take like 30-45 mins power cycling the modem to get the connection back, iv tried all i can and informed telstra about getting a replacement modem but they insist on charging me an arm and leg for a new one,

so my question is is there a more better modem/router with wifi out there to replace my existing modem? something maybe more better as well as the standard ISP modem i have, iv seen ones i would like to have but all have a rj45 looking connection with out the coaxial cable port

im at uni atm and cant remember the model of my current modem but its a netgear brand.

basically i need a coaxial modem/router with wifi which i can find here in Australia

TBH im over dealing with telstra and their expensive ways i already pay $150/month for 500gb and cant see any reason why they should charge me more for something i need for that service to work anyway long story i guess....lol but ye

any advice or pointers would go a long way

thanks all smile.gif

thanks dude its pretty what i need only i need it to have wifi :S but i spoke to telstra today and found out that they have had numurous issues with the netgear box i got and that the new "version2" or "v2" of that modem/router has had very little issues by customers so i apparently am getting one of those for free seeing as the lady on the phone was possibly one of the few nicer customer assistance officers smile.gif

thanks dude for the help though much appreciated smile.gif +rep
