USB inputs not working on my Corsair 300R case?

Hi all,

So I built my first PC about a month ago and everything has been going great with it except I've had one snag from the get-go. The two USB ports on the case have never worked for me. Regardless of what I plug in, I get a message that says "USB device not recognized."

Here is my build: http://pcpartpicker.com/user/Beefbud/saved/296X

Some more details regarding the situation:

- The four USB ports on my motherboard work fine
- The drivers are supposedly all up to date according to device manager
- That said, whenever I originally tried to install the USB drivers from the CD that came with my motherboard, the program would crash, though I feel like this is irrelevant given that the ports on the motherboard work fine
- When I originally plugged in the connector from the case to the motherboard, I unplugged it at one point to re-route the wire, and the little plastic piece that goes over the pins and should stick to the board came off. This made me a bit nervous, but I was able to put it back on and insert the connector once again and it doesn't look like any pins were damaged, but I felt I should mention it.
- The only other two ports on the front of the case, which are jacks for a mic and headphones, work fine

Does anyone have any advice for me? My hunch is that it's still some sort of driver problem, but I don't know how to go about fixing it.

Thanks in advance.
