Windows XP - retail or OEM?

Hi,

I am thinking of building my first rig so I'm going to have to buy Windows XP. It looks like the retail version is pretty expensive, but I came across an OEM version which also includes the free upgrade coupon to Vista.

Is there any real difference between OEM and retail? Will the OEM version install on to my blank hard drive straight out of the box?

Also, do I really need to buy another copy of Windows every time I get a new computer? I Think that's how the licensing works, but I'm not sure. I think I probably have an XP Pro install CD lying around somewhere (that came with my current Falcon-NW system) so I wonder if i could reuse that...

Thanks
-EJ

The difference is that there is no support with OEM and it is good for one and only one "computer" - which M$ currently defines as a mobo. Other than legalities it is the same exact OS

I see- cool, thanks very much! I'll just stick to the OEM version then.
