BSoD on my new build

Thread Starter
Here is my build:
Core 2 Duo E6400 (No OC yet)
P5B Deluxe w/ WiFi
OCZ Gold 2x 1gb DDR2 800 (6400) (2.0volts)
Geforce 7900GS
250gb Seagate Perpendicular Recording SATA3.0Gb HDD
580w PSU

After building it, i plug it in and I can change the voltage on the ram to 2.0 because its "that type of OCZ." And after that, I go to install Windows XP Pro SP1 (32 bit) through the installer. I have not pinpointed exactly where it fails (because it takes a while for a 250gb to format) and gets a BSoD, I believe it is after the first format stage.

After I restart the computer, it acts like its going to boot Windows like it was already on there. It continues through the more graphical installer, and then gets another BSoD. It all goes to hell after that-as it will not continue the installer again.

I do not know if this could be a BIOS version problem, a setting, or a compatibility issue. Also, the BSoD is nothing special, its an error on some offset. (4x0000004 or whatever)

I apologize for my lack of knowledge on this subject but I'd appreciate someone else with more superior wisdom help me out.

Thank you for any support in advance.

Thanks for the welcome! And thank you for the advice! I will try those suggestions. BTW, I did not OC anything yet. I just changed the voltage on the RAM because I've seen everywhere that my RAM doesn't work unless you change it.

Now that I think about it, I have made plenty of backups and the CD I have could be trash.

I'll bring back results! Thanks again!

I faced the same problem but with a litle bit of the same config (vga:7600GS, 512MB, ram:2x1GB@800, psu:535).
My problem was solved removing KAV5.0 personal ! ! !
I installed KAV6 afterwords.
Take a look:

Kingsoft:
I don't think its a program, as I just rewrote it with another CD. It is working now, but has been crashing every so often. Right now, I am on it with my memory at 2.35volts... lets hope it doesn't crash. I think it was mainly a memory problem and the XP disc I used. Also, I did update the bios and again, increase the RAM voltage.

I just hope the ram doesn't get too hot.

It's not over heating for sure. But, I think I narrowed the problem down to the memory. Everywhere I look, it says it needs to be 2.0volts and most motherboards (including the p5b) do not detect it. I am running the ram at 2.05volts atm and am waiting for a crash. If it crashes, I'll see what the bios update did and see if it can detect the ram's voltage.
