GTX 780 Battlefield 3 unstable OC?

I just got my new ASUS GTX780 DIRECTCU II, and am very happy with it. There's a problem though, I overclocked it to +250/+250 (1306MHz core) @ 1.212V and got it stable for a 30 minutes run of Heaven 4.0. Any more than that and it would crash.
So I tried BF3. Entered a random empty server - black screen (had to reboot). I thought Heaven was more stressful than Battlefield 3? So I downclocked it a step at a time, but I always got a black screen and had to restart. Now I'm at 1224MHz and it still does that. I also removed the memory overlock to see what was causing the problem. I also don't always get full 98-99% GPU usage in BF3, but that may be because of the drivers.
P.S.: I flashed a modded BIOS to get 350W TDP and 1.212V.

Well the problem could also be unstable CPU OC too.

But so far it seems OC related alrhight. Lower your CPU oc a bit as well. Even if it was stable before, I always find BF3 to be extremely picky about CPU oc.

BF3 is MUCH more stressfull than benchmarks like Heaven or 3DMark. It's very picky about CPU overclocks too (can be Prime stable and still unstable in BF3) but black screen sounds problem is the 780. Try 1200MHz, most 780's do around that clock with 1.21v.

I didn't overclock my CPU though, was planning to do that after I got a stable BF3 oc. CPU is stock at 3.9GHz. Will try 1200Mhz at 1.21V and report back.

Alright let us know.

I am sure it is a GPU stability issue. 99%

Just tested bf3 at 1202MHz core, stock memory, 1.21V, seems stable. I guess it was a GPU oc issue too. I was hoping I could get 1300+ in bf3 too, ohwell rolleyes.gif

The thing is your OC will vary from a game to game.

For me with my Titan 1137 mhz is flawless and I put many hours into it, but Bioshock Infinite only playable at 1110mhz and anything higher crashes.

So I settled for 1110mhz at the end. I can have game specific profiles too but not really worth it.

Which modded BIOS did you use? I am also owner this GTX780 and I am going to try some higher OC under water.
